| rear speakers are not very essential. If you look at how music is reproduced it is assuming that you are viewing the stage, i.e. you are listening to the music (while facing it). When music is reproduced from the rear speakers, you are actually hearing it backwards. It does make a small difference, depending how much you are into SQ. For a standard setup go with 4 speakers fronts being the better one (perferably 'seperates'). and for the rear, just something to reproduce the sound. Persoanlly I have CDT audio cl61's in the front and nothing in the rear, with the tweeter set right, it sounds good. I'm not missing any sound from the 'rear'.
